Being Hohl
If It’s Not Moving, It’s Becoming a Symptom
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If your symptoms keep coming back…
If your hormones feel unpredictable…
If your body feels inflamed, heavy, or stuck…
This episode goes deeper than traditional conversations around hormones and detox.
Because this is not just about “hormone imbalance.”
It’s about flow.
In this episode of the Being Hohl podcast, Dr. Dani Hohl breaks down why the body must be understood as a dynamic system of movement, pressure, and signaling — and what happens when that movement breaks down.
You’ll learn why many symptoms are not caused by what the body is producing… but by what the body is not clearing, not moving, and not processing.
This is where physiology, Chinese medicine, and the emotional body all intersect.
In This Episode, We Cover:
• Why the body is a flow + pressure system, not just a chemical system
• How “congestion” — not deficiency — is often the real issue
• The liver’s role as a traffic controller, not just a detox organ
• How estrogen metabolism depends on proper clearance, not just production
• The connection between liver function and mitochondrial capacity, oxygenation, and perfusion
• Why poor circulation and nervous system stress reduce detox ability
• The role of the gut in hormone recirculation (enterohepatic circulation)
• How the nervous system directly impacts liver function and hormone clearance
• The overlooked role of fascia and diaphragm movement in detox and organ function
• Chinese medicine perspective: Liver Qi stagnation → heat → symptoms
• How emotional suppression and internal pressure become physiological congestion
• What bioresonance scans reveal about patterns of stagnation, overload, and stress
• Why many people feel worse when detoxing (and how to avoid it)
The Core Shift
This episode introduces a deeper way to understand symptoms:
It’s not always about what your body is lacking.
It’s often about what your body is holding.
And what the body cannot move…
it will express.
The Being Hohl Method
At Being Hohl, we don’t chase symptoms.
We restore:
• flow
• signal
• capacity
Through a phased approach:
Phase I – Nervous System Regulation
Phase II – Gut Restoration
Phase III – Detox & Drainage
Phase IV – Hormone & Metabolic Optimization
Because hormones cannot regulate in a system that is congested.
Practical Takeaways
You’ll also learn how to begin restoring flow in your body through:
• improving circulation and perfusion
• supporting elimination and drainage
• restoring mitochondrial capacity
• deep breathing and diaphragm activation
• emotional processing and awareness
• reducing internal and external load

If your symptoms keep coming back, it's usually not because your body is broken. It's because something in your body isn't moving. That's it. That's the whole episode. But we're going to unpack it because once you understand what that actually means inside your body and how to recognize when it's happening, it's going to change everything. Welcome back to the Being Whole podcast. I am Dr. Danny Hole. At Being Whole, we look at healing through three layers: the physical body, the energy body, and the emotional body. Because your body is not just chemical, it's not just structural, it's not just emotional. It's all of it. Working together simultaneously. And underneath all of it is one core principle, movement. Your body is constantly moving things. Blood moves, lymph moves, hormones move, nutrients move, waste moves, energy moves. This is happening all the time. And when everything is moving the way it's supposed to, you feel regulated, clear, stable. But when that movement slows down, things don't disappear, they build. And that buildup is what you feel as bloating, hormone swings, fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, weight that won't move, feeling heavy or reactive. Okay, that's not random. That's your body saying something isn't moving. Now let's connect this to hormones because your body doesn't just make hormones. It has to produce them, use them, move them, and then eliminate them. And one of the most important systems for that is your liver. Your liver is not just a detox organ, it is a processing and traffic control system. And it takes what your body has used and prepares it to leave, including your hormones. So let's use estrogen for an example. Your body produces estrogen and then uses it, sends it to the liver, processes it, packages it, and then eliminates it through bile and the digestive system. That's how it's designed. Inside the liver, this happens through two phases. Phase one of detox is the conversion. Phase two of detox is then the conjugation. So this is where we're talking about methylation, sulfation, glutathione. This process requires nutrients, enzymes, oxygen, and energy. And then estrogen enters the bile and must physically leave through the stool. If bile isn't flowing, digestion is sluggish, elimination is slow, nutrients are depleted, estrogen isn't going to leave, it's going to stay. Or it's going to get reabsorbed. This is not just imbalance, this is congestion. Now let's go deeper because detox is not just about pathways, it's about capacity. Every detox reaction requires ATP energy, which means your ability to detox depends on mitochondrial function, nutrient status, oxygen delivery, nervous system state. If you are chronically stressed, not sleeping, undereating, inflamed, nutrient depleted, I can promise you your mitochondria are under strain. So now your body is trying to detox without the energy to do it. This is why people feel worse when they try to do a detox. Not because detoxing is wrong, but because the body doesn't have the capacity yet. Now we connect the nervous system. When your body is in chronic stress, it shifts into survival mode. And survival mode changes blood flow. Blood is redirected away from digestion, detox, liver function, and towards muscle-brain survival systems. So now your liver may be healthy in all of your blood panels, but it's under-perfused, under-supported, and it's not functioning optimally. So now ask yourself, is my body actually able to clear what it's producing? Now let's go even deeper. Before anything changes chemically, it changes electrically. Your body runs on a signal, neural signals, hormonal signals, electrical gradients. Your nervous system is constantly telling your body what to prioritize, what to slow down, and what to shut down. If your body is constantly receiving the signal, I'm not safe, detox slows, digestion slows, hormone patterns shift, even if you're doing all the quote unquote right things, if the signal doesn't change, the body doesn't change. Now let's get into the emotional body because this is where everything starts to connect. Okay? What you don't process emotionally, your body has to process physically. Every emotional experience changes: heart rate, breath, muscle tone, hormones, nervous system output. If that emotional response is not completed, the body stays in that state. So if you are constantly holding things in, suppressing, pushing through, not expressing, your body holds all that in. Holding creates tension. Tension reduces movement. Reduced movement creates stagnation. And that stagnation creates your symptoms. In Chinese medicine, the liver is responsible for flow. So when that flow stops, enter in stagnation. When stagnation builds, there's heat. When heat builds, there's symptoms. Okay, so that looks like irritability, inflammation, hormone swings, headaches, bloating because the system is under pressure. Now let's go one level deeper. Your liver physically needs movement. When you breathe deeply, your diaphragm moves your liver. So if you're shallow breathing, that movement doesn't happen. Your organs are wrapped in fascia. If fascia is tight, circulation decreases, lymph slows, organ mobility decreases. Now you have mechanical stagnation on top of chemical stagnation. This is what we see in bioresonance scans. Not isolated problems, but patterns. Nervous system stress, liver congestion, detox burden, emotional holding. These systems reinforce each other until you break the pattern, the symptoms will repeat. So let's bring this back to what you can actually do. Okay. If you don't want to work with me, you don't want to give anyone your money to help you figure out exactly what's happening in your body, cool. This next part's for you. Number one thing I want you doing: create movement. Walk daily, stretch, twist your body. Movement restores flow. Okay. Sometimes people decide that they want to start going to the gym. If your body is not prepared for that, you can actually be causing more stress, which is putting causing more harm into your body than good. Okay, start slowly, gently. Yoga, body weight at home where you already feel safe. We'll build on it. I promise. Walk daily, stretch, twist your body. Number two, breathe deeper. Inhale through your nose, exhale slowly. If your diaphragm is moving, your liver is moving. It's simple. Sometimes breath work sounds like you have to like go to a breathwork class. Now, given, there are breathwork facilitators that do a phenomenal job. I have attended breathwork sessions that have literally changed my life and like cracked my world wide open. Okay. So if that is something you want to do, beautiful. Highly recommend. But you can also do it for free, and it's very simple. Okay. Simple way to start. Breathe in for four seconds. Exhale for eight. Do that for two to five minutes and you just did breath work. Okay. Sometimes the woo spiritual community makes things sound harder than they actually are. Again, certified breathwork facilitator is very much different than that, right? They're using it with intention, they know what it's doing in your body. If you can't get to someone, it doesn't fit into your financial budget, just do that. Four seconds in, eight seconds out, and then cycle it for two to five minutes. Number three, support elimination. If you're not eliminating, you are recirculating. Okay, so look at how many bowel movements you should be going every day at least once, ideally twice. Number four, support energy. Eat real food. I don't know if you've read the news and what is happening with some of these top fast food chains. Stop eating it. There is nothing real in those foods that you are consuming. Now, nutrition is one of the things that can stress somebody out right away, especially if your body is already overwhelmed and exhausted. Okay. So when I mean real food, I don't mean you have to go 100% all organic, start spending a bajillion dollars at the grocery store. You can shop at your local, like Aldi or whatever, and they actually have a good selection of organic now. Um, but you can also buy regular fruits and veggies and protein. Yes, it matters, but I would rather you be eating and cooking foods like that that are not organic than going through a fast food drive-thru. Okay. Eat real food, protein, healthy fats, fruits, veggies. Okay, that's what I want. Prioritize protein and support minerals. Now for minerals, I use Celtic salt. Don't come for me. Celtic salt does test positive for heavy metals. Heavy metals do not show up in my scan. So I already bought it. We have it. I'm not spending money on something else just because somebody put out an article that says it tests positive for heavy metals. Okay, heavy metals are not something that my body is struggling with right now. If we do your scan and we see that your body is struggling with heavy metals, I will tell you to upgrade to like a Baja Gold Sea Soul. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Okay. Um, number five, process your emotions. Okay, I want you to ask, what am I holding that hasn't moved? What this can look like. So a lot of us out here are we're kind of calling ourselves empaths, and we can feel the emotions of people around us, and I won't go into that on this episode, but a lot of us are holding in emotions that are not ours. So if you are in a leadership position or you are working around people each day, and you are holding space for people, when you feel emotions, the first thing I want you to do is ask yourself, is this mine? Your body will tell you if it's yours or not. Now, in the beginning, it may feel hard to listen to your body, but the more you ask and the more you just listen, the more your body will tell you and you will learn to start listening to what your body is saying. Okay, so that's the first thing. Start to feel emotions. Are these emotions mine? If no, I want you to say, return to sender with love and gratitude. If your body says yes, I want you to go a level deeper and say, where do I feel these? Because where you feel them in your body is an example of what your body is trying to get your attention for. Okay. Let's say you feel them in your throat, and your throat feels like you can't swallow. Um, you may be feeling like it's it's getting tight, it's closing. That is your throat chakra, trying to get your attention that you're not communicating something. If you feel it in your chest, right, your chest gets tight, you feel like there's an elephant sitting on there. That's your heart chakra and your heart meridian. Okay, are you storing hatred in there? If you feel it in your lungs, panic attacks, can't catch your breath, that's grief. If you feel it in your stomach, right? Stomach aches, nausea, um, you can feel the butterflies in your stomach. That is where control and anxiety are coming in. What are you trying to control that is outside of your control? Okay, where you feel it in your body is telling you exactly what you're storing. Again, it's hard in the beginning. The more you do it, the easier it becomes. And then the release part of it is easy. I release what no longer serves me, I release what is not meant for my highest good. That's it. Simply tell the universe you're releasing, set the intention to release, and picture all of the heavy flowing out of your body, out of down out of your feet, back to Mother Earth, where she recycles it as nutrients for the plants and the trees. Okay, the more you do it, the more you will feel what how it's different after you do it. Number six, please stop forcing your body to do things. Your body doesn't need more force. It needs flow, capacity, and safety. Okay, please do not start a super restrictive diet. Please do not start intermittent fasting. Please do not start a full crazy detox. Please do not start restricting your calories. If your body is stuck in fight or flight, the more rigid the system, the more stress it's going to cause your body right now. Okay, we're teaching our body it is safe. This is why all of this is why we don't start with hormones. Okay, we start with phase one, nervous system, phase two, gut, phase three, detox and drainage, phase four, hormones. Because hormone regulation in a body that can move, clear, and adapt is way simpler, way easier, and not the foundation that we're trying to build. Okay, your hormones are loud, they are never, ever, ever, ever the root. Something else is happening that is causing your hormones to be dysregulated. Your body is not broken, it's backing up. And until things start moving again, your body will keep showing you. Because what doesn't move doesn't disappear. It just simply becomes a symptom. Next episode, we're gonna go deeper into cellular detox and mitochondria. Healing doesn't happen by forcing the body, it happens when we restore movement, when we support the system, when we create safety. Until next time, stay curious, stay grounded, and keep becoming the most whole version of yourself. Love you bye.
